Connect Payments with Stripe
Finish Connect Stripe so payouts and live checkout unlock. POD orders settle lab cost, card processing, and platform commission; your net goes to Connect. Digital products and donations use the same connection with 0% platform commission (Stripe processing pass-through). Start under Settings → E-commerce.
Stripe Connect is your verified merchant account on ArtInStack. Customer payments reach you, and print-on-demand (POD) orders can cover lab production costs while depositing your net into your bank account. Complete onboarding in Settings → E-commerce before you sell live, enable donations, or publish print products to checkout.

Connect is required for automated commerce on your site. It ties your Stripe account to checkout, fulfillment, and payouts.
Automated split-settlement and margin protection
When a client purchases a physical print from your storefront, the platform processes one transaction and executes an instant split at the payment layer. Manufacturing and shipping costs needed to start production are handled through the platform’s settlement logic, while your net is routed to your verified Stripe Connect account.
Without a connected Stripe account, ArtInStack cannot automate these split-routing logistics or safely distribute your earnings. To protect your margins and avoid fulfillment delays, automated print-on-demand checkout and related paid flows stay gated until your payment gateway setup is complete.
For POD: the customer pays one price (product + shipping). The platform retains enough to cover lab base cost, lab shipping, card processing (Stripe fee estimate), and platform commission (the percent that funds provider APIs, the shared catalog, and fulfillment ops). The remainder transfers to your connected account as your net. See Print-on-demand pricing and margin.
For digital products and donations: 0% platform commission. The same Connect account receives the sale or gift. The platform passes through Stripe card processing so processing costs are covered. Monthly donations use a percent application fee equal to that Stripe estimate.
What Connect also enables
- Digital downloads and catalog checkout on your public site (when your plan includes commerce): 0% platform commission, Stripe processing pass-through.
- Donations and fundraising campaigns: gifts require payouts enabled on Connect; 0% platform commission, Stripe processing pass-through (Donations and fundraising campaigns).
- Self-fulfilled and POD print orders on the same Stripe connection (POD uses the commission + lab settlement model above).

What you're looking at

Implementation steps
- Gather business details (legal name, tax ID if applicable, bank account).
- Open Settings → E-commerce.
- Click Connect Stripe (or Continue setup if partially done).
- Complete Stripe identity and bank verification in the Stripe window.
- Return to ArtInStack and confirm status shows connected and payouts enabled.
- Publish or activate a print or donation product and run a test checkout if test mode is available.
- Switch to live mode when verification completes and the test order succeeds.
What you'll see
Connected with payouts enabled in E-commerce; checkout buttons work on your storefront; POD jobs can submit after payment. If Connect is incomplete, customers may see checkout unavailable for print products and the dashboard will prompt you to finish setup.
Incomplete Stripe onboarding
Charges may be disabled or payouts paused until Stripe finishes verification. Watch email from Stripe for document requests. Print checkout remains blocked until Connect is active.
Business name on receipts
Match the Stripe business name to what customers expect on card statements to reduce chargebacks and support tickets.
Troubleshooting common setup issues
Does ArtInStack support Stripe Connect in-person payments?
No. ArtInStack currently supports online digital storefront checkouts only. Physical POS (Point of Sale) architectures and in-person card readers are not supported at this time.
How do I connect Stripe Connect on ArtInStack?
To connect your account, open the dashboard and go to Settings → E-commerce → Connect Stripe. Click the connection button to open Stripe’s secure onboarding portal, where you verify your account and activate payout rails.
Why is Stripe Connect still locked on my dashboard?
The Stripe Connect module stays locked or pending if your active plan does not include e-commerce selling features, or if Stripe is still verifying your payout banking details. Check your Stripe Express dashboard for missing identity or tax forms.
Verifying your setup
- Stripe shows connected with payouts enabled in E-commerce.
- A test print or donation checkout succeeded (if you used test mode).
- Live mode is on when you are ready to sell publicly.
- You understand POD settlement: lab + lab shipping + card processing + platform commission from the charge; Connect gets the remainder.
- You understand digital and donations: 0% platform commission; Stripe processing pass-through.
