Gallery privacy options

Control visibility and access to portfolio gallery content on ArtInStack.

Portfolio privacy controls who can view a collection: public site visitors, anyone with the link, or password holders. Align privacy with whether the gallery is marketing showcase or client delivery — the wrong setting either hides work you want discovered or exposes proofs you intended to keep private.

Prerequisites

Dashboard → Portfolio → collection → privacy or access settings

Authenticated clients: Dashboard → Portal ManagerInvitations

Core architecture & fields

Privacy options: Public, Unlisted (link only), Password protected when your plan enables it.

Portal overlap: client-specific access may also flow through Portal Manager invitations.

Implementation steps

  1. Open the portfolio collection settings.
  2. Review current privacy mode and change it if needed.
  3. Set a strong password for client galleries when you use password mode.
  4. Choose unlisted instead of public for content you do not want indexed by search engines.
  5. Save settings and re-test the link in a private window.
  6. Document which clients received which link or password.
  7. When the project closes, downgrade privacy or archive the collection.

What you'll see

Gallery visibility matches your client or marketing intent. Unauthorized visitors cannot browse password-protected or unlisted galleries without credentials or the exact link.

When email passwords are not enough

Passwords shared in plain email are only as secure as the email channel. Use Portal Manager for stronger client authentication when your plan includes portal access and the gallery contains sensitive or high-value work.

Verifying your setup

  • Privacy mode set intentionally — public, unlisted, or password.
  • Link tested under the chosen privacy level.
  • Client communication documents the access method you used.
