Downloads and client access

Manage download permissions and client access for portfolio galleries on ArtInStack.

Some portfolios allow visitors or clients to download web-size or full-resolution files. Configure download rights per collection and combine with Portal Manager for authenticated client access — your contract terms should drive the toggle, not the default setting.

Dashboard → Portfolio → collection → download permissions

Client auth: Dashboard → Portal ManagerInvitations

What you're looking at

Download toggles: allow web-size, full resolution, or disable downloads entirely.

Portal Manager tabs: Overview, Invitations, Client Submissions, Releases.

Implementation steps

  1. Open portfolio collection settings and locate download options.
  2. Enable or disable downloads based on contract terms — proofing usually means view-only; final delivery may allow full resolution.
  3. If downloads are enabled, specify resolution tier when the setting offers it.
  4. For registered clients, open Portal ManagerInvitations and click Invite Client with Access Type matching the gallery.
  5. Confirm clients see download buttons only when permitted.
  6. Revoke downloads after project completion by toggling settings off.
  7. Review Client Submissions if clients selected favorites instead of downloading everything.

What you'll see

Clients and visitors experience download controls consistent with your settings. Portal invitations grant authenticated access where you require sign-in.

Proofing before payment

Allowing full-resolution download before payment or contract completion may violate your licensing terms — disable full downloads until delivery is approved. Large batch downloads may be rate-limited to protect your bandwidth and storage.

Verifying your setup

  • Download permissions match your delivery contract.
  • Portal invite sent when authenticated access is required.
  • Test in a private window confirms correct download behavior.
