Privacy & security overview

Map the Privacy, Security, and Site controls sections in Settings on ArtInStack.

Settings → Privacy & security is one settings area with three inner sections—Privacy, Security, and Site controls. Use the row of tabs at the top of that screen (not separate sidebar entries). Click Save Changes at the top of Settings after edits in any section.

At the top of each section you will see a Privacy status summary (geo default, search indexing default for new content, maintenance, and two-factor hints). It is read-only guidance—not a separate setting.

Privacy (data, maps, cookies, compliance)

Open Settings → Privacy & security → Privacy.

Per-portfolio map and EXIF behavior still live under Portfolio → Portfolio Settings—the Privacy tab only sets defaults for new collections.

Security (your login)

Open Settings → Privacy & security → Security.

Audit Settings → Teams separately for who can access your dashboard—not under Security alone.

Site controls (public site behavior)

Open Settings → Privacy & security → Site controls.

Maintenance mode, site-wide watermark defaults, discouraging right-click on public images, and hide new content from search engines by default live here—not on the Privacy or Security tabs.

See Site controls for step-by-step setup, watermark image picker, and verification before you send client links.

Prerequisites

Dashboard → Settings → Privacy & security

Owner or manager role (team members may not see all cards)

First visit checklist

  1. Open Settings → Privacy & security and read the Privacy status strip on each inner tab.
  2. Privacy — Set geo defaults if you use Impact map blocks; turn on cookie consent if required in your region.
  3. Security — Enable 2FA on the owner account; review active sessions.
  4. Site controls — Confirm maintenance is off before launches; configure watermark if you use public photo detail pages.
  5. Link your privacy policy from Settings → Navigation (footer).
  6. Click Save Changes on Settings.

Verifying your setup

  • You can find Privacy, Security, and Site controls without searching other settings tabs.
  • Geo and cookie choices are saved (refresh the page and confirm toggles persist).
  • 2FA shows On in the status strip when enabled (Enable or disable MFA).
  • Public site is not stuck in maintenance (Site controls).
