Events Overview

Events Manager runs workshops, field days, and sessions with three registration modes—paid checkout, free RSVP, or volunteer signup—plus optional Digital Products for storefront tickets and portal materials.

Capability overview

Events Manager is where you run live programs—workshops, webinars, in-person field days, and volunteer shifts—alongside async courses. Each event has a public registration path, optional multi-session schedule, capacity, and an Attendees roster (approve, reject, check in).

Registration is not one-size-fits-all. Pick a registration mode on the event:

ModeWho signs upTypical use
Paid (checkout)Buyers pay (event page and/or a Digital Products SKU)Ticketed workshops, paid intensives
Free (RSVP)Public RSVP form; optional manual approvalOpen house, community briefing
Volunteer signupPublic volunteer form; optional manual approval; dashboard Add volunteer invitesConservation field days, nonprofit crews

For free RSVP and volunteer modes, Signup approval is either Auto-confirm or Manual review (pending until you approve in Attendees). Emails cover pending, confirmed, and dashboard invitation-to-accept flows—detail in Manage event sessions and registration.

Workshop sellers who need cart checkout or client portal replays also create an Event Access or Workshop digital product—see Events as a product.

Events require the events capability on your plan—if Events Manager is missing from the sidebar, check Subscription.

Prerequisites

Dashboard → Events Manager

Sessions, roster, volunteer invites: Manage event sessions and registration

Storefront / portal tickets: Events as a product

Plan check: Dashboard → Settings → Subscription

Stripe (paid tickets / donations): Dashboard → Settings → E-commerce

What you're looking at

Events list: upcoming vs past, registration mode badge, publish status.

Event detail: basics (title, schedule, location), registration mode + approval, sessions, Attendees roster, public event URL / page signup block.

Complementary products: Digital Products for shop checkout or portal materials after payment—not required for free RSVP or volunteer-only events.

Implementation steps

  1. Confirm Events Manager appears in the left sidebar after sign-in.
  2. If it is absent, open Settings → Subscription and compare your tier to https://www.artinstack.com/pricing.
  3. Open Events Manager and scan upcoming versus past events.
  4. Decide your default registration mode: Paid, Free (RSVP), or Volunteer signup.
  5. For free or volunteer events, decide Auto-confirm vs Manual review.
  6. Create a draft event, add sessions if the program spans multiple time blocks, then publish—see Create and publish an event.
  7. Place an event signup block on a Page or share the public event URL.
  8. Run a test signup with a personal email and confirm the right email arrives (pending, confirmed, or invitation).
  9. If you need cart checkout or portal access after payment, add a digital product per Events as a product.

What you'll see

You know which registration mode fits the offering, where the roster lives, and how Events Manager sits next to courses, Portal Manager, and Digital Products. Paid checkout stays blocked until Stripe is connected.

Verifying your setup

  • Events Manager access is confirmed—or you know which plan unlocks it.
  • You can name the three registration modes and when approval emails apply.
  • Stripe status is verified when selling paid tickets.
