Courses Overview
How course creation and access works on ArtInStack.
Capability overview
Courses package modules and lessons for structured learning on ArtInStack. Access rules decide who enrolls—public purchase, portal invitation, or manual grant—and often sit alongside Events Manager for live workshops on eligible plans.
Selling through your shop is a separate step: after the course exists, publish a Digital Products Course SKU and link purchase required access—see Courses as a product.
Prerequisites
Course admin: Portal Manager or dedicated courses area (plan-dependent)
Storefront enrollment: Courses as a product
Live events: Dashboard → Events Manager
Plan: Dashboard → Settings → Subscription
Implementation steps
- Confirm courses capability on Settings → Subscription.
- Locate course management (commonly under Portal Manager or a courses sidebar item when enabled).
- Review the hierarchy: course → modules → lessons.
- Open Events Manager to see how live sessions complement on-demand lessons.
- Choose delivery model: self-paced video, downloadable PDFs, or hybrid with events.
- Plan how students sign in (portal invite vs storefront purchase)—if you charge on the site, follow Courses as a product.
What you'll see
A mental map of course structure, access models, and how Portal Manager and Events Manager fit together.
Async-only courses
You do not need Events Manager for video-only curricula.
Student accounts vs team roles
Students are not the same as team author members—permissions stay separate.
Verifying your setup
- Course capability is confirmed on your plan.
- You understand modules and lessons.
- You chose a student access model.
