Add Lessons

Lessons are the teaching units inside a course. The current editor uses a flat, ordered lesson list—not a separate module tree. The order you set becomes the student’s previous/next path. Build curriculum after your course shell exists so title, cover, and slug are already in place.

Dashboard → Portal Manager → Overview → Courses → open your course

What you're looking at

Lesson list: ordered cards with drag handles to reorder; edit opens the lesson form.

Lesson form: title; short description (teaser—also used on product pages when the course is sold); optional video URL or Media pick; lesson notes (rich text shown in the portal player); attachments from Media, private upload, or URL (PDFs, presets, LUTs, XMPs, zips, and similar files).

There is no “lesson type” picker—combine video, notes, and attachments on the same lesson as needed.

How lesson notes empower creators

Notes are the in-portal textbook. Students can reference text without scrubbing a long video.

• Timestamps & step-by-step recipes — e.g. 02:15 masking skin tones, 05:40 tone curve adjustments.
• Cheat sheets & parameter settings — camera (1/250s, f/2.8, ISO 400) or Lightroom sliders (Contrast +15, Highlights −40) students can copy.
• Embedded links — gear lists, maps, contract templates, or third-party tools inside the notes.
• Easier re-finding — skimmable text when students return later (in-portal learning aid—not public SEO).

How attachments empower creators

Attachments often justify the purchase—they turn watching into doing.

• Lightroom presets / Capture One styles — .xmp, .dng, and similar so students apply the lesson look to their own files.
• Color grading LUTs — .cube for camera profiles (Sony S-Log3, Canon C-Log, and similar).
• PDF guides — posing, lighting diagrams, hotkeys, pricing sheets for on-set use.
• Sample RAW files — .CR3, .ARW, and similar so students follow the edit in real time.

Implementation steps

1. Open your draft course in Portal Manager.
2. Add a lesson and enter a clear title.
3. Optionally write a short description for the curriculum list / product outline.
4. Add a video URL or pick video from Media when the lesson is video-led.
5. Write lesson notes in the rich-text editor for the full teaching body students read in the portal.
6. Attach downloads students need (workbook PDF, preset pack, XMP, archive)—from Media, upload, or paste a URL.
7. Save the lesson, then add more lessons the same way.
8. Drag lessons into teaching order with the list handles.
9. When curriculum is ready, publish the course (and link access via Digital Products or invitations).

What you'll see

An ordered lesson list under the course. Each saved lesson keeps its notes, video, attachments, and sort position. Students open lessons in that order with previous/next navigation.

Verifying your setup

• At least two lessons exist with real content (not empty placeholders).
• Lesson order matches your intended teaching sequence.
• At least one lesson has notes or an attachment verified in the student portal after save.
