Storage usage and upgrades
Track storage usage and upgrade when needed on ArtInStack.
Storage is shared across Media, Portfolio, Products, and client deliveries. Monitor usage before large shoots so uploads do not fail mid-job. When you need more capacity—fixed storage packs or pay-as-you-go overage—see Storage add-ons and pay-as-you-go.
Why storage limits exist
To maintain fast delivery and keep platform costs sustainable for everyone, we apply standard asset storage guardrails on every plan. ArtInStack is built for active websites, client galleries, and digital commerce—not as a passive backup archive for files you never publish or deliver through the product. By capping runaway raw storage—and offering paid packs or metered overage for legitimate high-volume work—we help ensure that a few archive-style power users do not drive up infrastructure overhead or dictate pricing for our core community of creative professionals.
Prerequisites
Dashboard → Storage (detailed breakdown)
Dashboard → Settings → Subscription (plan meter)
Upload context: Dashboard → Media
What you're looking at
Storage page (Overview): total used versus your limit, with a breakdown by images, video, and other when available.
Subscription tab: plan name, renewal date, and a summary storage meter.
Implementation steps
- Open Storage and note used GB versus your limit.
- Review the bar breakdown (images vs video vs other) if shown.
- Open Settings → Subscription to confirm plan included storage matches expectations.
- Sort or scan Media by size or date to find large obsolete files.
- Delete files you no longer need—confirm they are not on live pages or galleries first.
- If you are near the limit, add a storage pack or enable pay-as-you-go before the next large upload.
- Retry upload in Media to confirm headroom after cleanup or billing changes.
What you'll see
An accurate picture of consumption: how much you use, what type of files drive it, and whether you are approaching the limit.
Before you delete large files
Deleting media that still appears on a published page or gallery breaks those references until you replace the asset. Downgrading plans may reduce included storage—see Upgrade or downgrade your plan and review retention before you change tiers.
If uploads fail for storage
| Message / situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Storage limit reached | Free space by deleting unused files, or add capacity (packs or pay-as-you-go)—see Storage add-ons and pay-as-you-go. |
| Payment issue | Resolve billing in Settings → Subscription → Manage billing; overage uploads may pause until payment is active. |
Verifying your setup
- Current storage usage and limit known on Storage or Subscription.
- Cleanup or billing path decided if you are above ~80% usage.
- Uploads succeed within your quota after cleanup or added capacity.
