Organize and find media
Use folders, search, and naming conventions to stay organized in ArtInStack.
A growing library needs consistent filenames and search habits. Use Media search, filters, and albums or folders when your plan includes them to group shoots, clients, or projects — you will thank yourself when a client asks for "that one from the rooftop session" six months later.
Prerequisites
Dashboard → Media (search bar, filters, folders or albums)
What you're looking at
Search: matches filename and metadata where indexed.
Filters: narrow by type such as image or video, date, or album.
Detail panel: rename, alt text, and folder assignment when available.
Implementation steps
- Open Media and review default sort order — usually newest first.
- Use the search box to find a file by partial filename.
- Apply type filters to show only images or only videos.
- Select multiple items and move them to a folder or album when your workspace supports it.
- Rename ambiguous files — for example, change
IMG_0001.jpgtosmith-wedding-001.jpg. - Add alt text on key images used on public pages for accessibility and SEO.
- Document a naming convention for future uploads, such as client-date-sequence.
What you'll see
You can locate files quickly by search or folder. Important images have readable names and alt text.
If renaming or deleting worries you
Renaming does not break existing page references — URLs stay tied to media IDs. Deleting media that is live on a published page or gallery removes it from those places until you replace it, so check usage before you delete.
Verifying your setup
- Search returns expected files by name.
- At least one folder or album is in use, or you have a naming convention written down.
- Key public images have alt text.
