Collaborative editing workflow
Blog post inline comments, comment mode, and editorial handoffs between authors and editors on ArtInStack.
Team blog workflow centers on the Posts editor: an author drafts copy, submits for review, and an editor leaves inline comments on specific passages—highlight text, threaded replies, resolve when fixed. This requires Teams on your plan and post statuses that allow review comments.
For image-based feedback on shoot files, use Projects (Projects workspace and image comments). For client-facing gallery proofing, use Portal Manager (Client delivery overview).
When inline comments are available
Inline comments appear when:
- Your plan has Teams enabled.
- Post status is Needs review, Changes requested, or Published (not plain Draft).
- Your role can review or comment (typically editor, manager, or owner).
Comment mode in the post editor
- Open Posts → Edit Post.
- Set status to Needs review (author: Submit for Review) so reviewers can comment.
- In the Post Content toolbar, click the comment bubble to Enter Comment Mode (same control toggles Exit Comment Mode).
- Select/highlight the passage to discuss.
- Click Add (or Thread if that passage already has a comment) to open the inline popover.
- Type the first comment and submit—highlighted text links to the thread.
- Open the Comments tab in the right sidebar to see all threads, reply, resolve, or reopen.
- Click highlighted text or a sidebar thread to jump the cursor to that anchor.

Coordination rules
- Avoid two people editing the same post simultaneously—last save wins; use comments instead of overwriting.
- Authors with publish rights may skip review on low-risk posts; use review on SEO, pricing, or legal-sensitive articles.
- Resolved comments stay marked on the text until deleted; reopen if the issue returns.
Prerequisites
Dashboard → Posts → Edit Post
Teams enabled; reviewer role assigned in Settings → Teams
Verifying your setup
- Comment mode toggles in the post toolbar when status allows review.
- A test highlight created a thread visible in the Comments sidebar.
- Author and editor roles match your intended publish path.
