Dashboard notifications
Use the notification bell for pending actions, order alerts, and platform reminders on ArtInStack.
The bell icon in the dashboard header is your in-app alert center. It complements email preferences in Settings—see Notification preferences for which events also email you.
What the bell shows
- An unread count badge when something needs attention.
- A list grouped by Today, Yesterday, and Older.
- Severity styling—informational (blue), success (green), warning (amber), error (red).
Notifications refresh while you work (about once a minute) and when you return to the tab.
Notification types
| Type | Typical meaning | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
| commerce | Orders, refunds, or checkout problems | Open the notification—many link to Settings → E-commerce orders or your order list |
| payments | Failed charges, chargebacks, payout issues | Review the order in Stripe or your dashboard orders; respond to Stripe emails for disputes |
| fulfillment | Print partner rejected or failed a job | Read the message; fix artwork or contact support; re-order manually if the customer was affected |
| platform | Account setup reminders (e.g. verify email) | Follow the linked screen—often Settings → General |
| registration | Event or portal sign-ups worth reviewing | Open Events Manager or Portal Manager as suggested in the message |
Titles are written in plain language (for example Order failed, Payment failed, Verify your email, Fulfillment failed).
How to act on a notification
- Click the bell.
- Read the title and message.
- Click the row to mark it read and, when provided, go to the linked page (order settings, verification, etc.).
- Use Mark all read when you have cleared the list.
Unread items stay until you open them or mark all read. Some older items may expire automatically per platform policy.
Pending work beyond the bell
The bell is not the only place to spot outstanding tasks:
| Area | What to check |
|---|---|
| Portal Manager → Overview | Pending client invitations |
| Settings → E-commerce | Stripe Continue setup if payouts are not enabled |
| Settings → Subscription | Plan limits or failed billing |
| Events Manager | Upcoming sessions nearing capacity |
Treat the bell as time-sensitive alerts; use module overviews for day-to-day queues.
Email vs in-app
Enable email for revenue-critical events under Settings → General (notification preferences). In-app bell entries can still appear even when email is off—check both during launch week.
