FAQ: Media library and storage

File size limits, slow-loading galleries, and stale images on your live ArtInStack site.

Common questions about uploads and what visitors see on your live site. Workflow guides live under Media library in Docs.

Is there a maximum file size or resolution limit for image uploads?

Yes. The uploader shows your current limits when you add files.

Asset typeTypical default cap
Photos (JPEG, PNG, etc.)50 MB per file
Camera RAW100 MB per file
Video500 MB per file
Files per batch10 at a time

Oversized files may be rejected with a clear message. Very large originals can still slow public galleries even when upload succeeds—export web-friendly JPEGs when you can. Storage plans: Storage add-ons and pay-as-you-go. Video uploads and encoding: Upload and manage videos.

Why are my images or background video loops loading slowly for public visitors?

CauseWhat helps
Huge originalsResize before upload (often 2040–4000 px on the long edge is enough for web)
Many autoplay videosUse fewer or shorter clips on one page
Processing not finishedWait until Media shows the file as ready
Visitor networkOptimize file size first; mobile networks vary

ArtInStack serves optimized variants when available; multi-megabyte phone originals still increase load time.

Why isn’t my updated cover image showing up on my live site?

  1. Save and publish the page—drafts do not update the public site.
  2. Hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R / Ctrl+Shift+R) or use an incognito window (browser cache).
  3. Confirm you changed the image in the page block or SEO/social image, not only a duplicate in Media.
  4. Wait a minute if the file was just uploaded—processing may still be running.

If preview looks correct but the live URL does not, Report a bug with the page link.

My video is stuck on “processing”—what should I do?

Videos are transcoded for streaming. Long files take longer. If status stays failed for hours, try a smaller file or contact support with the Media item name.
