Send Files to a Client

Hand off finished work through a portal invitation (ongoing client access) or a portfolio share link (quick, link-based viewing). Pick the path that matches your contract—portal for proofing, submissions, and courses; portfolio links for simple “here are your photos” delivery.

Prerequisites

Portal path: Dashboard → Portal Manager → Invitations (see Invite clients to portal)

Link path: Dashboard → Portfolio → collection → share link (see Share gallery links)

What you're looking at

Portal invitation: client receives email → signs into branded client portal → sees assigned gallery or resources.

Portfolio link: URL with privacy/password settings; no portal account required.

Implementation steps

Portal invitation (recommended for proofing and submissions)

1. Confirm files live in a Portfolio collection (or linked resources in Media).
2. Portal Manager → Invitations → Invite Client.
3. Grant type gallery (or video library) → select the collection.
4. Send and paste the access instructions into your client email.
5. Open the invitation flow in a private browser window and verify gallery behavior.

Portfolio share link (lightweight)

1. Open the Portfolio collection for this job.
2. Set privacy (password or link-only) and download permissions.
3. Copy the share URL from the collection or Share gallery links.
4. Email the link with expiry and download rules in plain language.
5. Test the link logged out.

What you'll see

Portal clients land in their scoped portal home. Link clients see only the public gallery page you shared.

Verifying your setup

• You tested the client path (portal or link) in a private browser window.
• Download and view rules match what you promised.
• Client received clear instructions.
