Working with page templates
Full-page templates, placeholder content, and the unified layout manager for headers, footers, and page presets on ArtInStack.
Templates save time by giving you a starting layout—complete pages, headers, or footers—instead of building every band from scratch. ArtInStack combines browseable page templates, My Templates, and Header & Footer management in one workflow.
Capability overview
| Template type | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Full-page template | Sections, rows, and sample blocks on a new or existing page |
| Header template | Logo, navigation, utilities across the top of the site |
| Footer template | Links, social, copyright |
| My Templates | Layouts you saved from your own pages |

Full-page templates and placeholders
When you apply a built-in or saved page template:
- The canvas loads placeholder headlines, images, and lorem-style copy so you see structure immediately.
- Replace every placeholder with your media, copy, and links before publish—placeholders are not meant to go live.
- Some templates include sample blocks (hero + features + CTA). Traits may point at demo layouts; open each block and connect real Media or Portfolio sources.
Campaign-style templates may pre-wire Blog listing or Products grid blocks—confirm data exists (posts, products) or remove unused blocks.
Unified layout manager
Settings → Header & Footer is the home for shared chrome:
- List existing header/footer templates.
- Edit opens the header/footer template editor—same right-sidebar workflow as pages, but a dedicated block library (presets, logo, navigation menu, footer columns, newsletter, and more). Full block and preset reference: Header, footer, and navigation.
- Set site default so new pages inherit the right chrome.
Per-page exceptions live on Page Settings — Page settings and overrides.

Common core use cases
- Launch — Apply Home template, swap hero image, publish.
- Rebrand — Edit one header template; all pages using the default pick up the new logo/nav.
- Landing page — Minimal header override + full-page campaign template on a single slug.
Next steps & validation
- Create a draft page → open Browse templates → apply a preset.
- Replace placeholder text and images.
- Open Settings → Header & Footer → confirm site default templates.
- Publish one page and verify header/footer match on live site.
