Write Your First Blog Post
Create your first post and draft content on ArtInStack.
Your first post establishes voice and format for everything that follows. Draft in Posts, attach a featured image from Media, and save as draft until proofreading is done.
Prerequisites
Dashboard → Posts → New Post
Categories (if needed first): Dashboard → Settings → Categories
What you're looking at
Post editor: title, rich text body, featured image, category.
Edit Post areas: content, Settings (slug, SEO), Comments when enabled.
Implementation steps
- Click Posts in the sidebar.
- Click New Post.
- Enter a clear title—it usually becomes the default slug.
- Write the body with short paragraphs and descriptive headings.
- Choose a featured image from Media that reads well as a card thumbnail.
- Assign a category, creating one under Settings → Categories first if the list is empty.
- Save as draft from the editor.
- Preview on a private window after publish, or keep draft until the Blog Page is ready.
What you'll see
A draft row in Posts with title, category, and status. The post is not on your public index until you publish.
Pasting from Word or Google Docs
Heavy formatting often breaks layouts. Paste as plain text, then reapply headings inside the editor.
Very large images in the body
Upload through Media first so the editor references optimized files instead of megabyte inline pastes.
Verifying your setup
- New Post is saved as a draft.
- Featured image is set.
- Category is assigned or planned.
