Blog SEO and Discovery

Set meta title, description, and slug on each post under Edit Post → Settings, use clear headings in the body, and link to portfolio or contact pages—published posts enter your site sitemap unless marked hidden from search engines. Optionally enable search notify in Site controls.

Strong posts answer a real question and link to your portfolio and contact pages. Per-post meta fields and readable slugs help search engines and social platforms summarize your work accurately.

To ping participating search engines when you publish or update a public post, turn on Notify search engines when public pages change in Site controls. That is optional and off by default. It does not replace per-post hide-from-search or your sitemap, and it does not un-index a post if you turn it off later.

Prerequisites

Dashboard → Posts → Edit Post → Settings

Site name for titles: Dashboard → Settings → General

What you're looking at

Edit Post → Settings: meta title, meta description, slug.

Post body: H1 from title, H2/H3 structure inside content.

Sharing a post link

When someone pastes a published post URL into Slack, iMessage, or similar apps, the preview uses the post featured image or post OG image when one is set. Drafts and posts hidden from the public site do not get a reliable image card. Test the live URL on your public host after you publish.

Implementation steps

  1. Open a draft or published post → Edit Post → Settings.
  2. Set Meta title under about 60 characters with your primary keyword.
  3. Write Meta description under about 160 characters with a clear benefit.
  4. Use a readable slug such as /blog/spring-lighting-tips.
  5. Add internal links to relevant Pages or Portfolio collections in the body.
  6. Save the post.
  7. Submit the URL in Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools (outside ArtInStack).
  8. Optional: enable Notify search engines when public pages change in Settings → Privacy & security → Site controls so participating engines are pinged on later public post updates.
  9. Repeat for your top three cornerstone articles.

What you'll see

Unique metadata on each optimized post. Internal links help visitors and crawlers reach your booking or gallery pages.

Duplicate meta descriptions

Reuse hurts click-through in search results—customize descriptions even when titles are similar.

Verifying your setup

  • At least one post has complete SEO fields.
  • Slugs are human-readable.
  • Internal links point to key site destinations.
  • Pasting a published post URL into Slack (or similar) shows the featured or OG image when one is set.
