Set up your workspace
In Settings → General, set Site name, Business name, and your workspace subdomain so your public site resolves at yourname.artinstack.com with the right header and SEO labels—adjust Theme, Header & Footer, and Navigation from Settings before you publish pages.
Configuring your workspace defines how the public site resolves routing, brand labels, and security parameters. Set these values before publishing so page renders, image credits, and SEO metadata use the correct identity.
Network architecture & SSL propagation
Workspace subdomain under Settings → General provisions a dedicated hostname: yourname.artinstack.com.
Provisioning latency: DNS and hostname mapping are created quickly; TLS certificates may take up to 30 minutes to propagate to edge nodes.
Transient faults: Cloudflare error 525 or an SSL handshake failure during early staging usually means the certificate is still issuing — not a wrong subdomain.
Validation strategy: Use Preview in Pages for layout checks until the dashboard shows a notification that your public site address is active.
Configuration topology
Global workspace configuration lives under Settings (left sidebar), not the personal General profile.
Settings tabs include:
- General — routing (subdomain), entity registry (Business name), brand variables (Site name, custom domain when entitled)
- Theme — global styling presets and color variables
- Site layout — structural layout defaults
- Header & Footer — site chrome templates
- Navigation, Categories, Blog Post, Integrations, Campaigns, E-commerce, Teams, Privacy & security, Subscription — module-specific configuration
Scope distinction: Sidebar General holds your login identity (email, password). Public brand and hostname settings are only under Settings → General.
Core parameter definitions
1. Workspace subdomain
Administrative role: Immutable network anchor for the workspace, tenant isolation, and dashboard access. Changing it is constrained once committed.
Public resolution: Default public URL before a custom domain is bound. If Site name, Business name, and Full name (sign-up name) are all empty, the live header, browser tab, and SEO use this string as the terminal fallback label.
Syntax constraints: Lowercase letters and numbers only. Spaces and special characters fail validation.
2. Business details — Business name
Administrative role: Formal trading name, studio, or company identity (invoices, contracts, operational records).
Public resolution: Second priority in the brand matrix. Also used in structured data, billing context, and image credit strings (often Full name / Business name when both exist).
3. Site information — Site name
Administrative role: Primary customer-facing brand label for the public application.
Public resolution: First priority — header, footer, browser title, empty-site screens, RSS, and related metadata. Updates apply on the next page load; republishing pages is not required for the name in chrome to change.
Full name (sign-up identity)
Not edited on this screen. The Full name from registration is the third public fallback if both Site name and Business name are empty. Configure trade names here via Site name and Business name instead of sidebar General.
Canonical brand resolution hierarchy
One deterministic order is used across the live site:
1. Site name (Settings → General → Site Information)
▼
2. Business name (Settings → General → Business Details)
▼
3. Full name (name provided at account registration)
▼
4. Workspace subdomain
Implementation protocol
- Open Settings from the left navigation.
- Select the General tab.
- Under Site URL, enter Subdomain and commit (Set Subdomain).
- Under Business Details, enter Business name and Save Business Details.
- Under Site Information, enter Site name and Save Changes (top of Settings when shown).
- Optional: Theme — apply a preset or color variables.
- Pages — confirm preview and live URL show the expected brand from the hierarchy above.
Exception handling & validation limits
Subdomain collision: The string is taken by another tenant or contains invalid characters. Try variations (initials, city, discipline).
Custom domain (optional, later): Your plan subdomain (yourname.artinstack.com) is enough to go live. When you want visitors on your own hostname (for example www.yourbrand.com), follow Connect a custom domain under Settings → General — that guide covers DNS, SSL, and www vs apex. Do not block first publish waiting on a custom domain.
Verification & state compliance
Before production content:
- At least one of Site name or Business name is saved if you care how the header reads.
- Staging URL matches
yourname.artinstack.com. - You understand the brand matrix (Site name → Business name → Full name → Subdomain).
- Optional: global style tokens set under Theme.
- Optional later: Connect a custom domain when you are ready to use your own domain.
