Export a Camtrap DP package

From a survey, download a Camtrap data package zip—package summary plus deployments, media, and observations tables—so partners receive camera-trap data in a familiar standard format.

When a university, agency, or archive asks for camera-trap data, they often expect a Camtrap data package: a zip with a package summary and three tables—deployments, media, and observations—using shared field names the community already knows.

In ArtInStack you export one survey at a time. The download is the tables and package summary. It does not stuff every original photo file into the zip; treat it as a structured catalog of the study you already hold in Media.

Photos: Only files that have at least one observation on this survey. Three animals in one photo still produce one media row and three observation rows.

Camera stations: Every observation should point at a deployment. If some rows were tagged without a station, fix those links before you send a package to partners so stations and detections line up.

Steps

  1. Finish tagging for the survey.
  2. Skim deployment dates against photo capture dates.
  3. Export from the survey card or detail page.
  4. Unzip and open the tables in a spreadsheet if you want a quick review.
  5. Send through your usual secure partner channel—not a public download page.

Verifying your setup

  • The zip contains the package summary and three CSV tables.
  • Observation rows match what you tagged for that survey.
  • Media rows match the distinct photos those observations use.
  • Deployment rows include the stations you expect.
