Community overview
Add the Community add-on and turn it on so readers can like posts, join the conversation, and sign in on your public site—under your studio, separate from the client portal.
Capability overview
Your work brings people together. Community gives them a place to take part on your public website.
Readers can like your articles, join the conversation, and come back as recognizable members of your site's audience. They can comment as guests or sign in to keep a consistent identity and like your posts.
Community lives on your site, under your studio's name. It is not a global ArtInStack social network, and it is separate from your client portal.
Prerequisites
- Plan that can buy Community: Creator, Teams, or Master (not Starter or Portfolio)
- Dashboard → Settings → Subscription (Add-ons)
- Dashboard → Settings → Blog Post (Community card)
- Comments and Engagement toggles: Blog post settings and layout
Master does not include Community for free—you still add the add-on.
What Community unlocks on your site
| On your public site | What visitors can do when Community is on |
|---|---|
| Blog posts with Engagement on | Like posts (members, by default) and Share |
| Comments | Join / sign in, or post as a guest if you allow guests |
| Header and footer | Sign in for Community (and Client portal too, if both are available) |
Buying the add-on alone does nothing until you turn on Enable community and save site settings.
Implementation steps
- Open Settings → Subscription → Add-ons and add Community.
- Open Settings → Blog Post, find the Community card, turn on Enable community, and save.
- Decide Allow guest comments and Require member to like on the same card (defaults: guests allowed, likes need a member).
- On a published post, confirm Like, comments, and Sign in behave as you expect—see Guest vs member and Members, sign-in, and engagement.
Billing and invoices stay under Settings → Subscription. For plan limits, see Plans and limits.
Guides in this section
| Guide | When to open it |
|---|---|
| Members, sign-in, and engagement | Email codes, Sign in, likes, sign out, newsletter opt-in on join |
| Guest vs member | What guests can still do, and what changes when you turn Community on |
| Community vs client portal | Member vs client—different Sign in, different purpose |
Verifying your setup
- Community appears under Subscription → Add-ons, and you have added it.
- Enable community is on under Settings → Blog Post, and you saved.
- In a private window on a live post, Like asks you to join with email (when require-member-to-like is on).
- You can post a guest comment if guests are allowed, or join and comment as a member.
