Public portfolios and posts can syndicate onto the open social web—without rebuilding a social network inside ArtInStack.
What shipped
- Opt-in Open Web Distribution — enable under Settings when your plan includes distribution and a custom domain is connected.
- Actor + WebFinger on your primary host — followers can find
@handle@yourdomain. - Outbound Create / Update / Delete for eligible public portfolio items and posts, with privacy-safe public derivatives (not vault masters or RAW).
- Home link-backs with federation UTMs so traffic returns to your site and shop—not a dead-end social timeline.
- Thin Follow handling so remote follows can accept; no full likes/boosts/replies inbox.
Why it matters
Discovery should not mean locking captions and thumbnails inside a closed feed. Syndication is an adapter on the same publish path as your public site, RSS, and IndexNow.
Good to know
Public means public: remote instances may cache what you federate; Delete/tombstone is best-effort, not guaranteed purge everywhere. Inbound social engagement (likes, boosts, reply moderation) is intentionally out of scope for this release.
